The Olive Tree is steeped in symbolism for both Jewish and Christian traditions.
For instance, offering someone an olive branch is a symbol of peace, the olive leaf is a symbol of new life/regeneration, and olive oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Olive trees also represent strength and longevity, with trees living to be 1,000 years old. From grain offerings mixed with olive oil, to the Lamb of God who prayed on the Mt. of Olives, elements of the olive tree represent the power, anointing, and atonement of God.
